Code of Conduct
Your registration for the 15th World Congress on Brain Injury (World Congress) acknowledges your acceptance of the following code of conduct for all events and activities. You are to act in a professional and courteous manner to all attendees and International Brain Injury Association (IBIA) and hotel/conference center staff throughout the World Congress. The International Brain Injury Association (IBIA) will not tolerate harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form. Harassment includes speech or behavior that is not welcome, personally offensive, inappropriate, or disruptive. Behavior that is acceptable to one person may not be acceptable to another, so use discretion to be certain that respect is communicated to others. Harassment intended in a joking manner still constitutes unacceptable behavior.
Anyone experiencing or witnessing behavior that constitutes an immediate or serious threat to public safety at any time should immediately contact hotel/convention center security or local law enforcement (by calling 911 or similar emergency number).
If you are not in immediate danger but feel that you are the subject of unacceptable behavior, have witnessed any such behavior, or have other concerns, please notify an IBIA staff member (as soon as possible) who can work to resolve the situation. All reports will be treated seriously and responded to promptly.
Once IBIA is notified, staff will discuss the details first with the individual filing the complaint, then any witnesses who have been identified, and then the alleged offender before determining an appropriate course of action. Confidentiality will be maintained to the extent that it does not compromise the rights of others.
Anyone requested to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. IBIA staff (or their designee) or security may take any immediate action deemed necessary and appropriate, including removal from the World Congress without warning or refund.
IBIA expressly disclaims any liability arising out of your consumption of alcoholic beverages in conjunction with the World Congress. You are responsible for your own well-being. IBIA expressly disclaims liability for any acts or omissions of attendees resulting from excessive drinking, recklessness or negligence on the part of any participant(s). IBIA reserves the right to revoke your registration at any time for breach of the foregoing.
Consent
As a registered attendee or guest of the World Congress, you authorize IBIA to photograph your image as a participant in the World Congress sessions and events. Use of the photographs will be limited to IBIA and for future meeting promotional purposes only.
