On this website you can join/renew your membership in the International Brain Injury Association (IBIA), and affiliated societies including:
- International Paediatric Brain Injury Society (IPBIS)

Depending on your level of membership, the following benefits are offered:
Association Member ($250 annually):
- Voting rights in elections
- Significant members-only discounts to a variety of brain injury conferences and events, including the annual NABIS Medical and Legal Conferences, the IBIA biennial World Congress on Brain Injury, and the biennial International Paediatric Brain Injury Society Conference.
- Twelve monthly issues of the peer reviewed journal, Brain Injury, the most respected publication in the field (a value of over $1,500 if purchased individually). This is the only membership category that provides access to the journal.
- A quarterly subscription to Brain Injury Professional, the largest circulation publication on the subject of brain injury.
Section Member ($150 annually):
- Voting rights in elections
- Significant members-only discounts to a variety of brain injury conferences and events, including the annual NABIS Medical and Legal Conferences, the IBIA Biennial World Congress on Brain Injury, and the Biennial International Paediatric Brain Injury Society Conference.
- A quarterly subscription to Brain Injury Professional, the largest circulation publication on the subject of brain injury.
Special Interest Group Member ($75 annually):
- Access to IBIA Special Interest Groups, such as the Disorders of Consciousness Group and the Social Cognition Group
- Significant members-only discounts to a variety of brain injury conferences and events, including the annual NABIS Medical and Legal Conferences, the IBIA biennial World Congress on Brain Injury, and the biennial International Paediatric Brain Injury Society Conference.
- A quarterly subscription to Brain Injury Professional, the largest circulation publication on the subject of brain injury.
Trainee Member ($100 annually):
- Voting rights in elections
- Significant members-only discounts to a variety of brain injury conferences and events, including the annual NABIS Medical and Legal Conferences, the IBIA biennial World Congress on Brain Injury, and the biennial International Paediatric Brain Injury Society Conference.
- A quarterly subscription to Brain Injury Professional, the largest circulation publication on the subject of brain injury.
This category of membership is open to students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate school program, residency training program, or postdoctoral fellowship. Proof of active participation in such program (i.e., a letter of support signed by the program director or faculty advisor on letterhead) is required for participation in IBIA as a Trainee Member.
Emeritus Member ($100 annually):
- Voting rights in elections
- Significant members-only discounts to a variety of brain injury conferences and events, including the annual NABIS Medical and Legal Conferences, the IBIA biennial World Congress on Brain Injury, and the biennial International Paediatric Brain Injury Society Conference.
- A quarterly subscription to Brain Injury Professional, the largest circulation publication on the subject of brain injury.
This category of membership is reserved for individuals who have: a) been an Association Member for five or more years continuously at the time of application for Emeritus Member status; and b) retired from work as a brain injury professional (with provision of a notarized attestation letter to retirement from work as a brain injury professional).
